Nestled in the vibrant heart of London, their KPS Senior School for pupils aged 11-16 is conveniently located adjacent to Kensington Gardens, while their KPS Sixth Form is situated near the renowned Natural History Museum.

During Years 7 and 8, all students are required to study a comprehensive core curriculum that includes English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Religious Education, French, Mandarin, Latin, Art, Drama, Music, and Computing. This foundational curriculum provides students with a solid academic base as they progress through their education.

In Year 9, students commence their preparation for GCSE examinations by refining their subject choices. While continuing with the core subjects of English, Mathematics, and Computing, they delve into the three classical sciences individually. To provide ample time for practical exploration, students begin their International General Certificate of Secondary Education (iGCSE) studies in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics during this year.

One-Year GCSE at Kensington Park School

The One-Year GCSE program at KPS is specifically tailored to meet the needs of international students aged 15 or 16 who are making the transition to the UK education system for the first time. However, this program is also applicable to UK students seeking to transfer from other schools or aiming to retake their GCSE examinations with the goal of achieving optimal results.

Sixth Form at Kensington Park School

During Years 12 and 13, students embark on the two-year A level program, delving into three or four subjects in depth. Many students begin with a broader selection of four subjects in Year 12 before narrowing down to three in Year 13.

To ensure that students choose subjects that align with their strengths, interests, and future academic or career goals, they receive guidance in selecting the most suitable combination. Unlike traditional programs with fixed subject combinations or option blocks, A level students at KPS benefit from personalized timetables tailored to their individual subject choices.

 This flexibility allows students to explore a diverse range of disciplines, including numerous subjects that may not have been available at the GCSE level.

School Life

As a relatively small school, KPS prioritizes individual attention, ensuring that each student is known, valued, and affirmed. Tutors play a pivotal role in students' lives throughout their time at the school.

Upon joining, each student is assigned a personal tutor who is responsible for monitoring their progress, well-being, and providing tailored support and guidance as they advance through their education.

Upon joining KPS, each student and member of staff is assigned to one of the four KPS Houses, named after the lost rivers of London: Fleet, Effra, Walbrook, and Tyburn.

Each House is overseen by a Head of House, a member of the teaching staff, and two House Captains who are elected by their peers at the end of Year 10. This system provides students in the Senior School with opportunities to assume leadership roles and develop essential leadership skills.

Boarding at Kensington Park school

KPS offers boarding accommodations starting from Year 9 (13+), providing students with the unique opportunity to experience living and studying in London within a secure and meticulously managed environment.

The boarding house, conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the Sixth Form and a short tube journey from the Senior School, is one of the finest in London. A dedicated team of house parents oversees the boarding house, acting in loco parentis to ensure the students' well-being, happiness, and overall health as they reside and study away from home. Students in Years 9 to 11 have the option of selecting twin or triple rooms, while Sixth Form students may choose single rooms.

All rooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms and a small kitchenette, complementing the school's exceptional catering services. During weekdays, boarders enjoy a hot breakfast and dinner at the boarding house, while lunch is provided in the school cafeteria. On weekends, brunch and dinner are served in the boarding house.

Admission at Kensington Park school

International students seeking full boarding from Year 9 (13+) may be eligible for sponsorship. However, those applying for Year 7 (11+) or Year 8 (12+) must arrange their own funding or have suitable care arrangements in accordance with UKVI regulations. International students residing in  Boarding House are required to appoint a local educational guardian who lives within a one-hour commute.

International students seeking admission to Year 7 (11+) or Year 9 (13+) follow the same application process as UK students. Limited spaces may be available in other year groups.

Applicants to the Sixth Form (16+) must demonstrate English language proficiency through a certified exam or by completing our English language assessment. Those planning to study Mathematics at A level are also required to take a Mathematics assessment. For applicants unable to visit the UK, interviews and assessments can be conducted remotely.
